Sk2 facial treatment eccense

Many of my friends claim that this fte is a "miracle water" (as advertised in singapore) so i decided to give it a try when my skin condition was really bad and im glad i did! Indeed, i didnt get any new pimple while using this and the pores on my cheeks looks much smaller. However, i feel its not moisturising enough as my skin gradually got rough.. Not bumpy. Just rough. It looks great (no bumps no pimples, even coloured) but the touch is not what im looking for..

Nevertheless, im continuing using it and at the same time try my best to moisturise it more. I started out using cotton pad but i felt that might be the reason why my skin felt dry so recently i changed to patting it on by my hands. So far so good. It never fails to calm my skin down whenever my skin condition is bad. If the touch of my skin is smooth, i guess i can say its my miracle water too!!

Collagen jelly!!

This is rated no.1 in cosme.net (a japanese beauty review/ranking site). It has only about 1000mg of collagen but contains 108 types of herbs, vegetables and fruits! Its the first time i see such a long ingredient list in a collagen supplement!

Pros:
-Delicious (taste like grapefruit jelly)
-Easy to bring around
-Contains lots of herbs, ingredients n fruits
-No hassle since you do not need to mix with any drink etc
-reasonable priced (about sgd50 for a month)

Cons:
None

Results:
I started taking 2 sticks for few days then reduced to 1 per day as instructed. Im not taking this consistently as im taking fancl htc collagen powder too so i cant comment about the results but its a very convenient way to get collagen!

Eyebrow embroidery

I usually have my eyebrow embroidery done up at a salon name 'sophia's brow house' which is highly raved in a forum name 'flowerpod'. it is very cheap. sgd$178 with a free facial, free touch up and a free eyebrow cream to be applied after the embroidery is done. Im very satisfied with the service there though the staffs are rather pushy. sophia herself is ok. The eyebrow embroidery is not painful at all as they actually put some cream to numb the brows before they start with the embroidery process. the first time I did my eyebrow embroidery was at another place, they didnt apply anything for me before starting the embroidery n it was a super painful n unbearable process but YET i went back to the same place for 1 touch up again since i know no other place at that time and the worse thing was.. the touch up tat time wasnt free! so I paid to get myself pain hehe. wats worse.........the shape is terrible! everyone said i look like a mosquito! lol. it was unbalance and too arch.. a very bad experience.. so after my brows had faded, I decided to try sophia's brow house n i like my brows alot better! (looked a bit thick at first but very natural after it has faded. dont really like too thin brows)! painless experience is great too! BUT one thing tat is not very good is I felt tat the brow colour is a bit light after it peeled.. maybe thats y its better go back for a touch up again before i fly back to japan but I usually do not have enough time for it...

Immediately after the embroidery

This is after peeled (about 4 days later)
Somehow I felt I look much better before the eyebrow peel though it does looks a little dark.. but after it has peeled off, it seemed a tad too light.. sometimes im wondering if i should draw myself (self touchup)...

Few years back, sophia brow house was situated in Marine Parade Central (the shop that i went for the first time). Then, they opened a 2nd shop at bugis so i went there for touchup the last time i went back to singapore. Im glad that there is no expiry date to my touchups since i only go back to singapore like once every 1-2 years.. hehe. Recently, i heard that they opened a 3rd shop! seems like business is good huh lol.

Im considering if i try the highly raved salon 1 at bishan the next time.. but they are always fully booked and i need to book many months in advanced which is kind of difficult!

La roche posay effaclar k

i used to have clear skin until one sudden breakout. since then, i have been experiencing frequent breakouts and also clogged pores(white heads) especially at the side of my face. after using effaclar k for about 2 weeks, my whiteheads are 90% gone! one side cleared up and the other side with a few. my strawberry nose also improved alot and at times it looks so poreless too. its totally not drying for my combi skin. i used it together with the effaclar toner and active matte moisturiser.

started out using it on its own without the same series's toner and moisturiser and it works very well too! i tried stopping it for a while and my clogged pores didnt come back. but i realise im more prone to scarring(i have the tendency to squeeze my blackheads at the side of my face) when im not on effaclar k..

Not using anymore after moving to japan as LRP is not readily available here.. Would love to use it again if i see it again here!

Ingredients: Aqua/Water, DI-C12-13 Alkyl Malate, Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccinate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Salicylic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, PEG-4 Dilaurate, PEG-4 Laurate, Zinc PCA, Sodium Hydroxide, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, PEG-4, Parfum/Fragance.

A-derma sensifluid cleansing milk

this is a cleansing milk which dosent requires a cleanser after that. not even water to rinse. however, as a personal preference, i do use a facial cleanser after that. its a decent cleansing milk in my opinion. i had the bigger 400ml pump bottle. i usually use 1 pump for my own face and then i will use another pump to double confirm that my makeup is well cleansed.

it cleanse well though a bit tedious. i need to use a total of about 6 cotton pads(both sides) to finish the cleansing process. it might be because im simply paranoid thus want to make sure its really clean. it has a faint smell but dosent contains fragrance. its ingredients seems ok. oil free and includes oats which is soothing especially for acne skin. didnt have any allergy nor breakouts using this. very happy with it. not expensive and a dermalogical brand.

But stopped using it after moving to japan as i cant find it anywhere!! Would love it use it again if i see it here!

Ingredients: Water (Aqua). C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. Avena Sativa. Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate. CrossPolymer. Carbomer. Decyl Glucoside. Disodium Edta. Fragrance (parfum). Sodium Hydroxide. Sodium Methylparaben. Sodium Propylparaben. Sorbic Acid

Effaclar active matte moisturiser

i loved this moisturiser! though it dosent seem really moisturising. but i like the matte feeling after applying and also it controls my oil pretty well. i used to wake up with an oil field but not anymore after using this. my t zone is still oily as usual but my cheeks are no longer oily. one thing i dont like about this is the 'cucumber' like smell... i hate cucumbers anyway...but somehow got used to it. i also realised that it seems to help control my clogged pores too. i got less clogs after using this. maybe because it controls the oil production thats why.

however, when i went to facial one month after using this day and night, my facialist said my whole face is full of tiny blackheads i used to have lesser blackheads but bigger ones. those that i can see and can feel but then after using this, i feel my skin is smooth and soft but then the number of blackheads seems to be much more than before according to my facialist... tiny but alot. i wonder if this is consider as improvement on my skin condition...

Anyway not using it anymore as i moved to tokyo and its not easily available here and my skin is not as oily as when i was living in taipei. i cant seem to get the ingredient list. it seems to have been discontinued.. such a pity since this is such a great product!

Cellex c hydra b complex

Tried this hyaluronic acid years ago. its not enough as a basic moisturiser on its own. so i got to add another light moisturiser on top of it or sometimes i add 1 drop of jojoba oil with 2 drops if this. i like it as it has only 4 ingredients which is water, hyaluronic acid, vit B5 and preservative. from what i know, vit b5 is good for acne skin. i have combination acne prone skin so i can use this at ease. no need to worry about getting clog pores with this. a safe to use product even for acne prone skin or sensitive skin but too light on its own and after using 4 bottles, decided not to continue buying as i dont see any difference with my skin though it didnt worsen it. Too expensive!! Lol

Ingredients:
Aqua, Sodium Hyaluronate, Pantothenic Acid, Phenoxyethanol.

Clarins gentle foaming cleanser

have been using this for 12yrs! i might change my moisturiser, toner and all but never this cleanser. i used to have dry and sensitive skin but now i have combination acne prone skin but im not really prepared to change this.

i think for cleanser, a gentle cleanser is best. so am not prepared to change my cleanser even though my skin type has changed. its a very decent and gentle cleanser. dosent leave my skin taut and cleanse well. feel face very clean after using it. Too bad the formula changed..instead of this, its been changed to clarins gentle foaming cleanser with shea butter for dry skin, with cottonseed for oily and combination skin...

Clarins multi active night cream

clarins is the first skincare brand that i started off with. using its cleanser for years so decided to try their full range of products. was introduced to multi active range's day cream, night cream and eccense. one thing i love about clarins is the fragrance! frangrance is bad for sensitive skin but they really smell so havenly! and their products have special application methods. interesting. another reason why i love clarins is because they uses plants in their products. subconciously, feel its more natural compare to all chemicals(though they contains lots of chemicals too).

i used this cream in japan when i have dry, rough and flaky skin. just after using for a few days, my skin no longer flakes and feels so baby smooth! my friend commented that my skin feels like a barbie dolls! pore size also seems smaller. very happy with clarins. however, price wise is a bit on the high side..

This product however, has been discontinued too.. it has been changed to clarins multi active night youth recovery cream for normal to combination skin with the following ingredients:

Aqua/Water/Eau,Glycerin, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Cetearyl Alcohol, Ammonium Acrloydimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Parfum/Fragrance, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexlgylcerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrolysed Cetatonia, Siliqua Seed Extract, Disodium EDTA, Dimethiconol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Actinidia Cinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Thermus Thermophillus Ferment, Phenoxyethanol, Glutamylamidoethyl Imidazole, Potassium Sorbate, Phodiola Rosea Root Extract, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sorbic Acid.

and clarins multi active night youth recovery COMFORT cream for dry skin types.

Lumiere cashmere foundation

coverage too sheer and oil control is almost none. Dosent like it at all

Lumiere veena velvet foundation

i have tried all 4 formulas in Lumiere and personally like this best. its coverage is good and it soothe my acne alot! when i applied it for the first time for a whole day, i didnt experience any itch and it stays. dosent really oxidise as well. the best thing is, after i cleansed my skin, i noticed a significant reduce in the redness of my acne!

FF(flawless finish) has the best coverage but then it kind of mask my natural skintone... everytime im on VV(veena velvet), i have people commenting that i have radiant and nice skin! which i really dont!! i have a lot of acne scars and clog pores to deal with...with this, it just look like my skin just better and more flawless!

Lumiere flawless finish foundation

coverage is the best among the 4 formulas. i love it alot until i realise i got a few more clog pores everytime i use this.. Might be too moisturising for me. so i gave up on this.

Lumiere luminesse powder

Hated it. i love lumiere but not this. its too sheer to cover anything and its a bit glowy. i guess this should be good for those who loves a super natural no make up look and have very good skin as this pratically dosent helps in covering anything. in my opinion, its coverage is as sheer as using just silk powder...

Lumiere silk powder

very silky and smooth. im using ivory. Been using for 5 years everyday without fail even if i dont put on makeup. As its pure silk powder, i regard it as part of my skin care regime. It helps control oil (not very well though) and contains lots of amino acids. Im too used to it! Now i dont feel safe to put on my makeup without this as a primer! Its not expensive too!

Everyday minerals original glow formula foundation

used to use this formula but that was when i had good skin... i liked the glow it gives. not too glowy. looks very natural. sheer coverage. im NC25 and my best foundation match is fairly light beige.

Everyday minerals multi tasking concealer

perfect for my NC25 skin! covers well without looking cakey. love it!

Everyday minerals semi matte foundation

got a sample in this but didnt use it long enough. its less shimmery than the original glow with added coverage but somehow it turns out a little cakey on me. didnt really like it.

Everyday minerals sunlight concealer

great undereye concealer! however, as its very yellow, got to apply with a light hand. if not, might end up having a yellow patch below the eye. not cakey as well. stays all day. loved it! But make sure your eye area is well moisturised before using as this is powder. Might make fine lines appear worse if that area is not well moisturised

Everyday minerals free sample kit

glad that everyday minerals actually gives away free sample kit. really appreciate it and the samples are all so generous! very happy with edm. good customer service too. the new sample kit comes with a sifer jar but somehow i got used to using it without the sifer(using a scoop)..

now i feel a bit messy using it with sifer.. haha. one downside of it is, i actually prefer paying for individual sample size instead of a free sample kit as sometimes i only want to try blushers or concealers... buying a mini custom kit will be too expensive. too bad everyday minerals dosent sell sample sizes individually...

Everyday minerals matte foundation

didnt try it long enough. used once. oil control seems better than the others. less shimmery than original glow and semi matte too. coverage is better than the 2 but not as good as intensive's.

Everyday minerals intensive formula foundation

love this formula best in everyday mineral's foundation. it dosent have shimmers unlike the other 3 formulas and its coverage is the highest. really loved it so much but then after using continuously for 10days, i got plenty of clog pores and some pimples... it kind of clog my skin real bad...too bad my skin dosent like it though i really do.

Everyday minerals chit chat blush

love this blush alot! its a very sweet pink with lots if shimmers. It will be perfect if it comes in matte.

i got combination skin and my cheeks can get shiny as well thus i cant really use shimemry blushes... have to go for matte ones... too bad it dosent come in matte fomula...

Everyday minerals siesta blush

this is a very nice peachy blush for fair skin girls out there. im NC25.

sometimes it dosent show up on me. sometimes it does but very faint. i love the colour though. can be used on those no makeup days. too bad its discontinued...

Everyday minerals sparkle bronzer

very super sparkling and brown! i plucked up my courage to apply it.

But when i look at myself in the mirror outside, it looked brown as it is and i look like i got punched by someone! too bad.. it dosent looks nice on me. guess its more for tanner girls. im NC25 by the way

Everyday minerals email me blush

loved it! it is a matte blush. a bit brownish peachy colour i would say. everytime i apply it, my friends will comment that i looked like i just got out from the beach. slight tan shade. very natural and nice. no shimmers is another plus point as i got combination skin. my cheeks tend to shine too thus i try to avoid those shimmery blushes. however, its staying power dosent seem very good. it always seems to disappear at the end of the day...

Lumiere kabuki brush

lumiere's kabuki is sooooooo soft and dense! i love it! been using for as long as i remember (5 years or more) and its still as soft as new! love the coverage it gives too!

Kose medicated sekisho whitening mask

heard much rave on this mask to be able to pull out blackheads and even whiteheads. tried it 2 times but both times it dissapointed me...

The first time, i applied only onto a small area with clog pores and wait for 20mins for it to dry and then i put out. its not painful at all maybe because i only applied onto a small area. but nothing came out. The 2nd time, i applied onto my nose as the blackheads there should be easier to pull out. however, honestly speaking, i dont really see much blackheads on the mask when i peeled off... its a decent and convenient mask as it can 'pull' out your impurities on the whole face unlike the usual biore pore pack which is suppose to use only for the nose. i have been looking for this kind of peel of mask(for whole face) for sometime. in a way its much more convenient to use compare to biore pore pack which is only for the nose...however, results wise, biore pore pack win hands down. i can see lots of heads on the pore pack each time i peel off and its cheap. this mask is no where cheap and nothing much came out from my nose.

Few years ago when i was living in taipei, i found another similar mask name 粉刺mp3. Its a white mask instead of black and its the best bh removal mask ive met so far! Still using faithfully after so many years! Will review about it later!

Lumiere veena blush

ive tried almost all blushes samples from lumiere. out of so many blushes, i love terra cotta (veena blush) best. its pigmented enough to show on my skin and its matte. great for my NC25 combination acne prone skin. lumiere blushes are all very beautiful but most of them has shimmers which i cant wear as it makes my cheeks looks oily...colours like flushed, antique brick, sweet cherub, abode sunset, wild rose, fresh roses are all very nice but too bad most of them dosent show up on me.. or they have shimmers... terra cotta is so far the most perfect one that i had tried in all lumiere blushes!

I love adobe sunset too on days when i prefer a more nude look

Dr ci labo pore white peel

Love this peel! its a transparent gel without any beads. suppose to be massaged onto dry skin as stated.

dead skin will come off when you massage onto your face. its very gentle even on acne skin unlike other scrubs with beads. acne skin should avoid scrubbing but i guess this is gentle enough to use as there are no beads at all.

my scars lightened significant after one use. i often used this to exfoliate my skin especially the area where there are scars. i also noticed that at times when i use this more often, the dead skin that comes off with it is lesser as well. Recently i dont use it often as my skin is rather sensitive now on differin so im avoiding all sorts of exfoliation. But when i do feel i need some exfoliation, this is the only exfoliator that i will reach our for as its the gentlest and it really works!

i remembered i tried the tester onto my hand and there is actually one white patch on the area where i tried this on! its whitening effect seems great but its only temporary. it contains some fruit acids. downside is its a bit expensive and the pump bottle dosent seems to be pumping well at times..

Overall a great product! Ive been using it for 5 years!

Dr ci labo collagen sunscreen

I tried this sunscreen in both spf30 and spf50. its a very good milky sunscreen which is totally not sticky. applying it is a breeze and it dries very soon. its a physical sunscreen thus good for sensitive skin like me. the ingredients inside all seems good. there is no alcohol and it has collagen and other good ingredients which i cant really remember. really love it so much. used it daily for about 2-3 weeks then suddenly got a serious breakout. So far, all the sunscreen ive tried clogs my skin.. really love it so much. too bad my skin cannot take it...so im no longer using a sunscreen on my face unless im going to the beach. For daily use, i use moisturiser with spf plus mineral makeup.

Neutrogena deep hydrating mask

Good hydrating mask which dosent irritate my sensitive skin! its really hydrating and leaves me with glowing skin! the best thing is, the pores on my cheeks almost totally disappear after each use! that shows how hydrating it is! so far the best hydrating mask that i have tried and will keep using this!

DIY aspirin mask

great mask! can create your own favourite formula! i always mix with only aloe vera gel. makes my skin sooooooo smooth! my blackheads all gone after one use. of cause they do come back after a few days but im gald this mask can help me clear them and makes my skin smooth! Try it! Cheap, easy and effective!! That is if you are not allergic to aspirin of course!

Just take some aspirin tablets (3 or so) and mix with a few drops of water or aloe vera gel or honey etc as you like to create a paste then apply it onto your skin and leave it there for about 15 minutes then rinse off with water and continue with your usual skincare routine. Try it!

Dhc Q10 toner

Tried out this toner in the 60ml size. felt its super sticky. just used for a few days. cant tell what benefits it has even after using the whole bottle. it dosent cause any clogged pores or breakouts for me but no reason for me to want to repurchase this.

The glass bottle makes it looks fragile and also heavy though classy compare to normal plastic bottles. but in any case, i dont have any special preference on the packaging as long as the toner dispense easily.

Conclusion, nothing amazing. Didnt purchased my 2nd bottle. Hehe

Dhc Q10 sheet mask

dun like this mask. nothing special though it dosent irritate me. the mask shape is kinda strange. dosent fit my face shape nicely. had a hard time trying to put it onto my face.

no noticeable results. not hydrating enough for me. i prefer my neutrogena deep hydrating mask much more...

Dhc eyelash tonic

i loved this! it helped to grow my bottom lashes! i used to have almost no bottom eye lashes.. after using this for a while(i dont remember how long), i see results! i am into my 2nd tube but then i dun use it often now.. seldom in fact. but my lash is still nice! now i no longer need lengthening mascara! but then i feel it dosent help alot in volumising. my lashes is rather sparse...so now i switch to using volumising mascara instead of lengthening. however, i dont like the brush that comes with it. its coarse and it hurts when i accidentally brush it onto my lid or into my eye. i used to use shu uemura's eye lash tonic but then it clogs my eye lid.. gave me oil clogs along the lid everytime i apply so i changed. glad this dosent cause this clogging problem for me. also, the tube seems to be easily dirtied. i still cant figure out how to clean the brush.. when u try to clean it with tissue, it tears the tissue.. brush too coarse i suppose.. then the tissue get stuck onto the brush and i have to remove it. tiring... if i dont clean it, the liquid inside will turn cloudy and even looks muddy.. so i threw away the tube before i can even finish it...

Dhc deep cleansing oil

i had used many bottles of this previously. its a decent cleansing oil which removes makeup well. however its a bit too watery for my preference. prefer fancl's mild cleansing oil's consistency. i can massage the oil onto my face while watching tv and nothing drips. for dhc, the oil always slips through my fingers n super messy... also, fancl's MCO is able to remove my waterproof mascara but not this. i repurchase because it dosent cause me any problems(no breakouts) and its easily available compare to fancl. also, it dosent have a short expiry date like fancl's. but i did not repurchase again because i still prefer using cleansing milk or liquid. feel cleansing oil somehow clogs my pores...and dosent like the oily feeling after rinsing it and before cleansing my skin with a cleanser

Dhc acerola lotion (toner)

This range of skincare is very highly raved but i feel its greasy! i have tried their Q10 toner as well. its super sticky! if i have to choose between stickiness n greasiness, perhaps greasiness is better as it makes the skin looks shiny/radiant. but i prefer a toner which makes my skin feels smooth and soft(nothing on the skin) instead...

After using this toner for a while, i got a few tiny new pimples and one painful red bump...heard alot of raves for this range but maybe its not for me.

so far the best toner tat i had tried is La Roche Posay's Effaclar Clarifying Moisturising Lotion. (it controls oil and also feels like i had applied nothing onto my skin at all) and hada labo's basic series toner with mainly hyluronic acid. Its very sticky but it moisturises very well. I remembered waking up to a very plumped skin after my first use! Still using it now! My HG!

Dhc lip balm

Great lip balm! i love its glossy look and it moisturise my cracked and peeling lips well! My lips always look smooth and soft when using this! Sometimes i apply a thick layer over night and wake up to super baby soft lips! One bad thing is that it has no spf.. So for daytime use, i prefer neutrogena's lip balm with spf15.

Paula's choice 1% bha gel

tried the sample baggie of this. used about 2 weeks plus. dosent help much. and i hated the shininess n stickiness. its super shiny and super sticky! i feel my skin dosent reacts well with gel... everytime i applied any gel onto my skin, flakes appears...(not my skin that is flaking, its the gel coming off in flakes!). dosent like the flaky look and the sticky feeling. wont repurchase.

Clarins one step gentle exfoliating cleanser

i got this in a sample tube when i bought my gentle forming cleanser which i had been using for as long as i can remember.

I was using it nightly. in the morning, i will cleanse my skin with clarins gentle forming cleanser and use this at night(i feel my skin is more dirty at night thus using this as it contains slight exfoliating effect).

its good! my skin got very much smoother and those tiny bumps(clogged pores) were all gone when i first started using it! very happy with it!

I usually use only about a pea size. squeezed it onto my fingertip and then spread around my whole face. the only cons is that SLS is the 2nd ingredient which might be rather drying on the skin though it dosent really forms(if i remember correctly)

Not using it now though since my skin is quite sensitive to exfoliations now that im on differin...will consider buying again if i decided to stop using differin hehe

Paula's choice bha 2% liquid

i tried the gel before i got pregnant (like 5 years ago) but not really a supporter of it as it feels really really sticky and does nothing to my skin. i didnt use this liquid long enough to see results as i got pregnant soon after i started trying out BHA's and was advise not to apply BHA during pregnancy so i stopped after trying this out for 1 week. im presonally in love with the consistency of this liquid on my skin. its like a toner. feels very light and barely there. not sticky at all.

Tried it again recently and it makes my skin feel rough and bumpy. Not for me eventually.. Perhaps my skin just hates bhas... Sob..

Paula's choice one step face cleanser

paula's choice things are reasonably priced in my opinion. a lot cheaper than many counter brands out there and the ingredients looks decent as well. i tried this cleanser in sample size and i like it that my skin feels very squeaky clean after cleansing. it can remove makeup(im using mineral makeup) decently but not waterproof/water resistent sunscreen. i need to wash my skin twice with this cleanser to make sure the sunscreen is being removed. i believe it has slight exfoliating effect as i can see and feel some beads when im using it. however, the squeaky feeling on my skin after using this makes me feel that it might be a little drying if i use it daily. so it might be good to only use it as a means of removing makeup on lazy days. it makes me feel safe that my makeup is being removed nicely before i sleep.

Garden of wisdom healthy hair serum

I purchased this together with the majik lockes but i really hate to say... i dont like either of them. their texture is like aloe vera gel and doesnt go onto my hair easily if i apply it when my hair is dry. if i apply onto my hair when its damp, they goes on easily but leaving a film on my palm and also dosent moisturise my hair at all. my hair feels very very dry after its dried and lots of tangles which i dont get them usually!

Packaging.. i bought the samples.. its very difficult to get the 'gel' out of it.. im not too sure of the full size's packaging but then the sample's is terrible.

ive been using other GOW products and so far has been in love with the German Chamomile Hydrosol and purchased a full size. Tried their mist and carrier oil too but didnt quite like them..

Gow's product is reasonably priced but then i dont quite like their packaging. their hydrosol's spray is 'hard'. i need to use both hands to push down the spritzer!

Not using any one their products now though..

Dhc after bath hair treatment oil

I bought this to try after reading the reviews in makeupalley.com. Ive very dry n damage hair which has plenty of split ends and frizz... ive tried many other hair treatment/mask but non of them are comparable to this! To control my frizz, i need OIL! Though i love the texture of those treatment milk/emulsion, they do nothing for my hair.. esp in winter, my hair matts up to a ball at the back...

This product smells nice and tames down my frizz. Sometimes i forgot to apply it after bath and when i look at myself in the mirror, immediately i realised the difference on my hair! It just looks frizzy, messy, dry! This dosent weigh down my hair too. Dosent make it looks oily either. Absorbs well and smells great! I didnt try the emulsion type as my hair dosent seem to do well with anything other than oil. before this, i was using 100% jojoba oil which is good too (just scentless) I will definately repurchase this after i finish my bottle. I use 2 pumps for my semi long hair. The price however is a bit too much. But nevertheless, i will repurchase since its so hard to find a product which tames my hair as well as this! Have been in search for a few yrs! Finally my search is over. At least for now... hehe

Califonia baby calendula cream

I got some samples from a friend of mine who is a lover of CB products. I was skeptical of it at first as i heard it has lots of essential oil and i personally hate the smell of those oil... they just give me headache! But then to my amaze.. this cream dosent smells bad at all! I was surprised! It has some mild essential oil smell n smells great! My girl seems to love it as well (she keeps sniffing the container) and whenever she sees me taking out the cream, she will come to me and sit in front of me waiting for me to apply it onto her when she was like 18mths old.

BTW. It makes her skin very smooth and felt well moisturized.. After a few tries, i bought the full size of this and had been using on her every winter. I bought the lotion version for spring and autumn too.

This winter, my hands are super duper dry and cracked! Its so painful whenever it touches water and whenever i put on any hand cream.. It just stings me so bad! My hands look so red at the knuckles and fingers..my sister said it looks like eczema!! Then my sister suggested that i try this so i did and just after 1 application (overnight), the redness is totally gOne!!! Totally gone! By the way, it didnt sting at all when i applied too!! Totally sold! Great product! But as with all california baby products, its not cheap..

Califonia calendula baby bath

I got some samples from a friend of mine who love CB products recently. Though i wasnt interested in getting any bubble baths from this brand due to the price, i just thought maybe i can try it out. I fell in love with it immediately! My girl enjoyed playing with the bubbles and they lasted for quite a while. The smell is great(calendula bubble bath) and it seems to be very moisturising. It is very very different from the soaps that ive used on my girl so far... It dosent give the squeaky clean feel which i like! the squeaky clean feeling just makes me feel as if they are taking away the natural body oil of my girl n very drying on her.. so everytime i use them, i cant help but worry.. with this, i got nothing to worry about! Her skin feels sooooooooo moisturised and soooo smooth during bath that i cant stop touching her!

Also, she seems to enjoy her bath more than usual and refuse to leave her tub due to the bubbles i guess! Anyway im all sold! Other than the price, its a great product!

Canus goat milk moisturising lotion

i like this as it goes on easily and sinks in fast. It dosent leave any residue on my skin and my skin feels well moisturised and smooth. BUT im not a fan for the smell.. i got the non scented version and it kind of smell bad. i am not too sure what kind of smell it is but not for me. The smell seems to go off soon though. not too sure if i just got used to it or it just fades off. anyway for this price, its a very good body lotion. The scented one smells much better though

California baby citronella sunscreen spf30

I got this as a sample from a friend who is a fan of CB's products and tried it on my girl who was 18mths old then when we went to the beach. i applied it onto her face and body. It spreaded well and sinks right in without feeling any greasiness. It did left a white cast and makes her looks shiny though.. But It does a good job at protecting her from the sun as she didnt get any sunburn nor tan. but then after a few days, she got some tiny bumps on her face n arms. im not sure if its because of this sunscreen but ive never applied anything onto her face. not even moisturiser.. so its highly possible that its due to this despite cleaning twice after we arrive home that day...

This might be good for beach use but I bought the spf18 moisturising non fragrance sunscreen for daily use (though i got lazy applying it on her soon lol). So far she seems ok with the spf18 sunscreen. :)

Canus goat milk shampoo and body wash for kids

I got this and tried it on my girl when she was 18mths old. It has a mild nice smell and it seems very moisturising. It dosent make my girl's skin squeaky clean which i like! The squeaky clean feeling from other soaps makes me feel that they are taking away alot of moisture from my girl's body... This product is great! I kept feeling her hair is still soapy when it is NOT! very very moisturising...Love it! Not too sure if this is suitable for newborns as its very very slippery after use! When i try to carry my girl out of her tub, i feel that she is so slippery! And after she slept, i went to wash my hands and feel my hands are very slippery as well! Not too sure why though..it just leaves a film which some people might not like it.

She is still using this until now! (3.5years old)

Maclaren bath milk

I found this in drugstore.com and it is a very interesting product. It just looks like some oil in a bottle and i was wondering why it is called a bath milk..

The ingredients are mainly oil... The instruction says to add a capful to the bathtub and agitate the water and i did (but i added only a bit less than 1/2 a capful). The water turns milky white instantly! Thats interesting! Now i know why it is called a bath milk.. Although almost all the ingredient inside is oil, it is not at all greasy. The tub of water jsut feels like normal tab water (as if ive added nothing inside). The smell is very nice anc calming (lavendar and chamomile).

I will definately buy it again but due to the price, i only used it occassionally and now that my daughter is older, she mostly takes showers and not bath so i have not been using this for quite sometime! Lol

Nature baby organics lavender and chamomile hair and body shampoo

I bought a trial size and tried it tonight on my girl when she was 19mths old.

The smell is calming and nice. However, it dosent seem to create any bubbles at all (of cos this is not a bubble bath!). This is one bad thing about it as my girl loved to play with bubbles in her bath and she hates to get her hair washed.. so usually i will have an easier time washing her hair while she play with her bubbles.. so.. i NEED the bubbles!

This product dosent leave any film after bath which is good. It dosent leave the skin squeaky clean (drying) as well. Rather moisturising.

Im still using it on my girl on and off now (she's now 3.5 years old) but i found another brand (canus goat milk shampoo and body wash) that i prefer over this so... Hehe.

BUT i love this brand's conditioner and am still using it on my girl's hair daily!

Bought this from iherb.com

Giovanni smooth as silk conditioner

Great smell (very light) and very silky smooth while on the hair. 'seems' to make my hair softer though at first but it totally dried up my hair after a week!

i had a hair cut just before i started using this (to get rid of my split ends) but just after bout 10days of using this series(shampoo, conditioner, treatments etc), i have a full head of split ends!

back to using the commercial shampoo and conditioner

Giovanni smooth as silk shampoo

Smells nice, not too overwhelming. Lathers much better than some organic shampoos ive tried. However, it totally dried up my hair. i had a hair cut just before i started using this (to get rid of my split ends) but just after bout 10days of using this series(shampoo, conditioner, treatments etc), i have a full head of split ends! unbelieveable!

Back to using the commercial shampoo and conditioner...

Giovanni frizz be gone serum

i used this together with the whole series of smooth as silk from the same brand and my frens commented that my hair looks less frizzy which i think is mainly due to this product because the shampoo and conditioner dried my hair out n now i have a full head of split ends...dont buy the shampoo and conditioner of giovanni!! But this is a good product in my opinion. Has been using daily since i first met it.

I got it from iherb.com

Giovanni shine of the times silicone spray mist

I spray this on after applying the frizz be gone serum of the same brand. It goes on looking very greasy but the greasiness soon goes off and leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth.

However, the shine is not very obvious. I just spray it directly onto my hair though instruction says to walk under the mist..it makes hair look less frizzy. Not a miracle product though

Mandom cleansing express moist

I was really surprise at how effective it is though its just a cleansing 'water'! i used only 2 cotton pad to remove all my makeup (just mineral powder).

It dosent sting my skin and i dont feel any stickiness etc. after removing all my makeup,

Its basically ok to just leave it on without rinsing but i do rinse with water follow by my cleanser after that. it dosent leave my skin as soft and smooth as what my cleansing milk (A-derma) does if i use it alone without rinsing off on lazy days (i used to use this cleansing milk but not anymore as its not available here in japan).

Anyway im happy with this and have been using it every night since i met it.

Clarins hydra balance tinted moisturiser spf6

i bought this online and it cost me only about USD34. there is only one colour being sold here in tokyo (bisque). i would think this is not fair enough for fair ladies out there. this is the lighest shade in this line but then it seems a bit dark in my opinion. it fits me just nice though im a NC25-30.

pros: not oily, not sticky, spread onto face easily, smells nice, stays whole day, looks natural

cons: dosent control oil (i have combi skin and my nose got shiny after a while though i dun really mind it at all.) coverage very sheer and spf is too low

Shiseido's natural finish cream concealer

i was on the lookout for a good undereye concealer to cover my terrible dark eye ring (at least i feel its terrible). i love it instantly as the SA applied it under my eye. it covers perfectly and it dosent cake nor look patchy. nor does it dries out my eye area. it spread nicely too. a little goes a long way. I used to apply it with a concealer brush but feels that it looks kind of cakey so now, im applying it with my fingertips.

BTW, it is SUPER water resistent! i put a drop onto the back of my hand and when i tried washing it off, i couldnt get it off even with lots of hand soap! finally i got it off easily with my makeup remover...

im not too sure if i got the shade right but it says number 6! it looks orangey/peachy... guess it works well for undereye but definately not on blemishes on the other part of the face..(i do use on blemish on the face though. Just try my best to apply thinly)

Paula's choice resist super antioxidant concentrate

Tried almost 4 sample baggies over 2 weeks (1 baggie for about 4 days). At first i really like it as its full of antioxidants and vitamins! And it made my skin feel so firm! It didnt break me out as well (i break out very easily when trying new products. Sometimes overnight!) but after 2 weeks of trying, i think its clogging my pores as i feel my skin is very rough.. Not dry and not bumpy but just feel alot of blackheads everywhere (the feeling of touching a nose full of blackheads). Skin looks ok (not bumpy) but i really cant stand that rough feeling so i stopped and immediately the next morning i wake up to my smooth skin all over again! I love the ingredients and the fact that it dosent break me out but... No full size for me i guess

Paula's choice 2% bha gel

Tried samples of it. Bought 2 packs of samples and lasted me about 3 weeks using nightly onto my t zone. I tried to apply onto my whole face but its too sticky and gave me a few pimples the next morning. Im not sure if its purging or what but i seriously cannot handle purging so im limitting the usage to my t zone only. Works well on my t zone and ive bought myself a full size! Made my forehead smooth and bumpless!

Presently using it onto my nose only as im using differin on my whole face except my nose. It is really sticky and leaves a shine so not advisable to use it in the day under makeup in my opinion

Paula's choice 8% alpha hydroxy solution

Love it! Dosent break me out nor dry out my skin and made my skin feels smooth and radiant the next day. Absorb fast and its totally not sticky unlike paula's bhas.. BUT i do prefer the resist weekly treatment with 10% aha. The results is more dramatic and i do not have to use daily like this one.

I was using this on alternate nights after toning and before moisturising before i found their 10% weekly aha from their resist line

Paula's choice resist weekly resurfacing treatment (10% aha)

Ive tried a lot of paula's choice products but most of them dosent agree with my skin (clog my pores). This makes my skin looks so radiant and smooth the next morning. It dosent sting and i leave it overnight. I apply it after cleansing and let it sit for a while before i apply my moisturiser. I only use once a week. I realised the result is more dramatic if i apply a thick layer but it does leave my cheeks feeling taut. If i apply a thin layer, its not as drying but the results are not as obvious as well.

However, i stopped using this too since i started using differin due to my skin's sensitivity but its a good product!

Paula's choice skin recovery mattifying concentrate with retinol

Bought samples of it as im looking for a product that contains retinol yet mattifies. BUT this dosent mattifies for me at all! My t zone shines after less than 30mins and its usually not even really oily! Gave up trying for the long term effect on me as it fails in the main purpose of matifying. Ingredient list looks great though.

Differin gel (adapalene) 0.1%

Got this from my derm for my mild acne (whiteheads and blackheads mostly on my cheeks). Been using for almost 3 months and now i cannot live without it! My bumps looks much lesser just after a few days into this treatment. So far it didnt cause me any purging nor did it stings my skin. After about 4 days into it, my skin burns so badly after cleansing at night (im using makeup remover n cleanser which contains aha and my clarisonic brush). So much so tat whatever i put onto my skin after tat just makes my skin burns like mad! I know i should not be using harsh cleanser with differin but im not comfortable using a gentle cleanser at night. So at first whenever it starts burning real bad, i skip using differin a few days and resume when my skin no longer burns upon washing (my skin dosent burn in the am with my gentle cleanser..). I was receiving microdermabrasion treatment every forthnightly as well so was advised to stop differin a few days before and after the treatment so ive been on n off on differin but still, it gives me great results! Perhaps since im going on n off on differin, i dun get all the bad reactions too.. My derm says its perfectly fine to go on n off like this till my skin get used to it without burning so i did that for the first month on it to get my skin used to it then from the 2nd month onwards, i started using it nightly but stopped using my clarisonic brush and stopped going for microderbrasion as well as not to stress out my skin.

i realised my skin is less oily, pores looks a bit smaller, skin looks smoother (lesser bumps) overall (not totally clear though) with no bad side effects except the burning at first (when i was using with my clarisonic) and the dryness/flakiness which is no longer a problem now since i found my mousturising serum. Very happy with this!! Its cheap too with prescription. Like 700yen per tube which i think can last 3-4 months if use daily. Ok plus consultation fee of 1100yen lol. I shall request for more tubes on my next visit after this tube runs out!!

Another good thing about this is it helps in anti aging since its a form of retinoid (vitamin a).

I dont dare to stop using this treatment but its not safe to use during pregnancy...so if i happen to get pregnant.. Oh what should i do!!! Lol!!

Clarins huile tonic body treatment oil

I dont personally fancy the smell of this oil but i like it as i feel it gets absorbed very fast and leaves my skin very silky smooth to the feel. I apply this consistently and i got no stretchmarks at all!!

The SA told me to use the clarins stretchmark cream on top of the oil. i tried following her method(applying oil first then applying the cream on top of it) for a while. no bad skin reactions from this combination but its expensive to use both in the long run and the reviews for this oil seems better than the cream so i decided to use this alone.

Not cheap but great product! No stretchmarks!

Clarins strechmark cream

i had this as a sample. I liked it that it dosent really have any smell and after applying, it absorbed very well. makes my skin felt very smooth and silky and felt barely there. really really light weight. comparing to the toning oil for stretchmark, i will prefer this one except that this is a newer product(i heard) and not much reviews on the effectiveness on stretchmarks... I did not really stick to one brand of stretchmark creams while i was pregnant though.. Used chicco's, galenia, this, clarins toning oil and palmers cocoa butter... Not a single stretchmark!!

Clarins cleansing milk

I tried a sample of the one in green many years back. Didnt feel it really cleanse well. Skin does feel smoother after using it but didnt like it so didnt purchase a full size. Did not break me out either. Though i love clarins, this is not one of my favorite.. Too bad

Clarins gentle foaming cleanser for dry and sensitive skin

This is the first skincare product that i started out with when i was 17 years old. Back then, i was using only this cleanser and nothing else. Not even a makeup remover though i was putting on makeup everyday (just loose powder) It didnt break me out but its nothing amazing as well. I just needed a gentle cleanser and like it that it contains plant extracts. It dosent really foam but its a little drying in my opinion despite it being formulated for dry skin. Im not someone who likes switching products so though this cleanser is just an ok cleanser, i stick with it till now (yes! NOW) just simply because it didnt break me out. Its been 12 years!!! But too bad they changed the formula of their cleanser and the new one comes with shea butter.. Im not too sure if my skin will like it but since i got to change a cleanser, i decided to look for other brands (take a break from clarins. Been a loyal fan for too long! Lol) for my morning cleanser (im only using clarins cleanser in the morning now and a aha cleanser at night).

Reviews for this cleanser is not really good too lol. Anyway its been discotinued...

Clarisonic facial brush

Bought this cleansing brush from skincarerx.com last august and used for about 8 months twice daily until this march (2 months ago). I started off using alternate nights for about 2 weeks then increased to nightly and then eventually twice a day after 1 month of use. The reason for stopping it is because i started using differin gel 0.1% topical acne prescription from the doctor which makes my skin really sensitive to any friction including cotton pads! Everytime i use this brush (after starting differin), my skin just stings the hell out of me! So much so that i cant apply anything onto my skin at all! Not even my toner... It just sting so much that i get a headache out of it..BUT i do really like this cleansing tool. Its easy to use and it takes just 1 minute! After which, it will stop automatically.

At first, i was not really comfortable with the vibration especially on the bridge of my nose lol. Felt kind of ticklish.. But i soon got used to it. My skin always looks brighter after cleansing with this and my pores looks cleaner too. According to the website, its suppose to help with acne, reduce pore size and fine lines too! It did really clear up my chest and back (yes i use on my chest and back too and am still using. Not whole body) so i was very happy with it. I do not have fine lines to begin with so i cant comment on how this tool help with fine lines. As for pores, it did help making them look cleaner. I dont see any WOW from this tool though except brighter skin and clearer pores. I do still get clog pores and pimples here and there while using this..but the reviews online and before n after pictures looks really amazing. Google more for the before n after photos and you will get what i mean!!

Its not really cheap and you need to replace the brush head every 3-4 months. Each brush head cost usd25. Machine itself is about usd110 or so if i remember correctly. Not forgetting the additional cost for shipping!

There are a few different types of brushes (delicate, sensitive, normal and deep cleansing). The tool came with a free sensitive brush head in white which im using for my body since its a little harsh for my skin i felt. For face, i used their delicate skin brush head in light blue color (their gentlest brush).

If you can afford it, try it! Its good! Not amazing but good cleansing tool! Makes skin feels really soft and smooth after cleansing. No miracles for me like those i saw online though but enough!

Panasonic spot clear

This is a vacuum specially designed for the nose area. The instructions says to use it only onto the nose but im not too sure why.. Its a very good vacuum in my opinion and i use it perhaps once a week or so. It always vacuum out lots of sebum from my nose and i do use on my cheeks at times (not supposed to).

Refer to the picture for the "power" of this vacuum. The yellow ring at the tip is the sebum.. Eeeks. The suction power is quite strong and always left my nose/cheeks red but it usually clears up very soon. Its selling for about 3,500yen in amazon.jp but about 4,500 yen in shops. I got mine from amazon.

Panasonic nano steamer EH-SA31

Panasonic manufactures lots of steamer but this is one of the cheapest and simplest one of all. I bought it from amazon.jp at about 7,500yen but its selling in shops at about 13,000yen (i often buy things from amazon due to the affordable price) Its simply a facial steamer that gives out nano size steam to allow better penetration into the pores to moisturise the skin. As the tank is small, it is able to provide steam up to a maximum of only 6 minutes. According to the instruction booklet, It is advised to use only 3 minutes for deep cleansing (remove makeup->steam->cleanse). For me, im using a full 6 minutes for this purpose (remove makeup->steam for about 4-5minutes->cleanse while steaming for the last 1-2 minutes). You can use it to enhance penetration of your toner too by using it for a full 6 minutes after cleansing and before toning. I rarely use it this way though.

I bought this last year around december if i remember correctly. Been using for almost half a year and still loving it! I do feel my skin is better cleansed and looks clearer, smoother, lesser bumps(clog pores), more radiant ever since ive started using this though im only using it on alternate days. Will consider buying one with more functions from panasonic when this steamer decides not to work anymore lol!

Hitachi hada crie

Recently i bought this new beauty tool from amazon.jp at about 12,000yen. Its selling for about 25,000yen in electrical shops here!! Its suppose to enhance the penetration of your toner using ion and microwaves. There are 4 functions to it. 1. Cleansing 2. Patting 3. Moist up and 4. Cool mode. Its about 5 minutes for each course so the total course will take about 20 minutes! A diy mini facial in your home lol. Of course you dont have to use all 4 everytime. For eg, on days when you dont need deep cleansing, you can skip it and just use the other 3 modes or on super lazy days, perhaps just the cool mode to close up the pores after cleansing. Its not wireless so you will need to stay close to somewhere whereby you can connect the adapter to. There is another version of this which is cheaper (about 7,000yen in amazon and 13,000yen in shops) which comes wireless but instead of the cool mode, it is replaced by a refresh mode which im not too sure what it does. So it all depends on what you need. The cool mode helps closes/minimises the pores. Another thing about this is that it only comes in 110v (in japan) thus it cant be used elsewhere unless with a voltage converter.. However, the cheaper wireless version can be used worldwide with a voltage of 100-240v.

1. Cleansing
You should use this mode with a cotton pad soaked with your usual toner or a wipe off toner after your normal cleansing routine. In some cases, the cotton pads comes off yellowish but not for my case.. It always comes off clean! So i assume my cleanser alone is doing a great job and thus this mode renders useless to me lol

2. Patting
Use this mode without a cotton pad. You will need to put on lots of toner onto your skin before using this mode so the tool will be able to glide along your skin smoothly without dragging it. Add toner if necessary.

3. Moist up
As with mode 1, you will need to use a soaked cotton pad (with your toner as well)

4. Cool
In this mode, you will need no toner amd no cotton pads. You need to allow the machine to cool itself down which takes about 1.5 minutes and then just pat slowly and gentle onto your skin. You are not advised to put the tool onto the same area of the skin for more than a second as it risk damaging your skin due to the low temperature and also it will risk warming up the tool itself n render it useless for pore closing due to the skin's warmth.

After everthing, follow up with your usual skincare routine. Be prepared that your toner will deplete very fast! So get a cheap toner! Lol!

Personally, i felt its quite a useless tool for me as i dont see any difference on my skin though i see lots of great reviews online.. In fact, all the rubbing on my skin with a cotton pad is irritating my sensitive skin.. My skin gets red and stings after each treatment and perhaps due to the irritation,my skin got really bumpy after a week so i stopped using it now. Will review again if i decided to re try it hehe

Sk2 facial treatment sheet mask

Ever since i started using differin get 0.1% (a topical acne gel), my skin gets really flaky and looks really ugly under makeup so ive been relying on my best ever neutrogena deep hydrating mask every other night. It never fails to brighten my skin and minimise my pores after each use (of cos thats temporary. Lasting 1-2 days perhaps). BUT it dosent work much at making me flakeless while im on differin so i decided to try the highly raved sk2 sheet mask.

Bought a trial set of 2 pieces. Upon opening the package, i was surprised at how much eccense is inside! The sheet mask is a bit thick but fits onto my skin quite perfectly other than my forehead part (its a bit short. Wasnt able to cover my forehead perfectly). Didnt want to waste the eccense, i transferred it into a travel size container and stored it in the fridge and use it nightly as an eccense and it lasted me for about 10 days. :) ok as for the mask, its amazing!! I put it on for about 15-20 minutes and removed it. I didnt really see any difference as when i used my neutrogena deep hydrating mask (which gives me instant radiance and minimise my pores). No radiance, no pore refinement nothing! So i was kinda dissappointed.. I massage in the remaining eccense, put on my usual moisturiser and went to bed.

The next morning, i was really suprised! I didnt realised any difference before i put on my makeup though. But once i put on my makeup, i see no flakes!! I kept checking my skin in the mirror and got really happy as my skin is really flakeless!! Finally i found a mask that helps!! Its expensive at about 1600yen per mask but considering the amount of eccense left which lasted me 10 days, i guess its rather worth it?

I didnt had any problems with using the leftover eccense during that 10 days. No irritation nothing. But i realised my pores looks more refine and my skin is not oily in the morning when it always do! (i put on only the eccense that 10 days. No toner no moisturiser) Just make sure its kept refrigerated and closed tight and it should be fine i guess. However, as with all mask, this moisturising effect of the sk2 mask lasted me only 1 day. Now, i dont really use it since i found my savior moisturising serum but its good for nights before events! A keeper for only important events for me!

Ingredients
Aqua (Water/ Eau), Saccharomycopsis Ferment Filtrate**, Butylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Salicylate, Methylparaben, Disodium Edta. *Pitera

One thing i love about most sk2 products is their short ingredient list! Nothing fanciful so i feel "safer" using them onto my acne prone skin! But if you are looking for fantastic anti aging ingredients then perhaps its not for you unless you consider their main ingredient 'pitera' as fantastic.

Paul and joe moisture primer

Ive always feel paul and joe has nice sweet packaging for all their products but never had an interest or rather never dare to try any counter cosmetics until i happen to chance upon the reviews of this primer in cosme.net (a japanese version of makeupalley whereby you can find reviews of almost every beauty products in japan from supplements to body products. Of cos not forgetting skincare and makeup products!)

I didnt know i can actually get samples for makeup products till i read from that site (yes thats how ignorant i am in counter makeups! Lol) so i thought why not?

There are 3 shades to this primer. 01 dragees (direct translate from japanese. It looks like ivory), 02 honey and 03 cream. There is spf 15 for both 01 and 02 but not 03. 01 is kinda fair. It brightens up the skin. I got a shock at first as i look really fair when i applied this onto my skin! It has slight shimmers which i fell in love with and it covers my pores well. 02 is closer to skintone. It has slight shimmers too but it just look like my own skin with shimmers so nothing fantastic. But it seems to cover redness better than 01. 03 is very very sheer. Almost transparent. I bought 01 in the end. It dosent break me out nor clog my pores and its moisturising! The ingredient is not fantastic but im glad its alcohol free and includes lots of moisturising ingredients!

Ingredient list
Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Talc, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Triethylhexanoin, Nylon-12, Cyclomethicone, Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Water, Lilium Candidum Bulb Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocpherol, Acrylates Copolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Behenyl Alcohol, BHT, Carbomer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/Hexastearate/Hexarosinate, Hydrated Silica, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Hydroxypropyl Methycellulose, Lecithin, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Polysorbate 80, Polysorbate 85, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Stearic Acid, Sucrose Polystearate, Triceteareth-4 Phosphate, Triethanolamine, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Fragrance (Parfum). [May Contain (+/-) Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Iron Oxides (CI 77499), Mica, Titanium Dioxide.

Moisturising serum

3 months ago, i started on differin (adapalane) 0.1% gel for mild to moderate acne as i always have clog pores problem (bumpy skin around my cheeks and forehead). This gel makes my skin really sensitive though i apply it AFTER ive applied all my skincare products! I was using clarisonic brush twice a day prior to differin but after i started using differin, my skin just burns like hell with clarisonic.. So i decided to stop using my clarisonic. Ever since, the burning sensation is gone but my skin was really dry and flaky and it look worse after apply my mineral makeup! But i dont wanna worsen my clog pores by applying liquid foundations (the gel works well at clearing my bumps) and all so i started masking every alternate days with my all time favorite neutrogena deep hydrating mask which never fails me but.., its not moisturising enough this time!! The only mask that saved my flakiness is sk2's facial treatment mask but the results last for only a day.. I cant possibly use that nightly or i will go bankrupt!!

This serum is introduced by my facial esthetician. Its a really simple serum with no fancy ingredients for anti aging or whatsoever.. It goes on nicely with a non sticky toner(i was using it with my hada labo toner which is sticky enough and my skin just remained sticky like forever! Hated that feeling..) and absorb really fast. It makes my skin flakeless and very very smooth and soft to the touch so much so that i cant stop touching my face! Lol! I also realised my skin looks much brighter and radiant after just a few uses and was wondering why since it contains no whitening ingredients.. So i did a search and found out that a well moisturised skin looks more radiant while a dry skin often looks dull.. So thats why!! Lol!

The cons.. its really expensive imo! It cost about sgd 162 for a 60ml bottle... But since it saved my skin and didnt break me out... Oh well~will stick with this till i find something else that does the same or better at a cheaper price.

Ingredients:
Water, bg, diglycerine, ppg-9diglycerol, polyquaternium-51, hydrolyzed eggshell membrane, dna-na, cholesterol (wool), lecithin, ceramide3, hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed silk, dipotasium glycyrrhizinate, sorbitol, carbomer, potassium hydroxide, phytic acid, phynoxyethanol, methyl paraben

Ps: i got myself samples for estee lauder advanced night repair. According to many reviewers, its very moisturising. And it contains lots of great antioxidants! Will try it next time!

Eyelash Extension

Just last week, i went for an eyelash extension in a private salon near my place. Its my first experience! I saw the advertisement coupon (discount coupon) in a magazine here and was attracted by the price and of cos the location since its near my place (about 5 mins by a monorail). But at the same time i was a little worried since its a private home salon and not those popular famous salon in Ginza or whatsoever... But.. i decided to just give it a try... it cost about sgd 77.40 for unlimited amount of extensions that particular session so why not? LOL.

Taken in normal day light

Taken at home

The whole procedure is super duper comfortable... the lady who did this for me is so gentle that i fell asleep a few times during the whole session! It took 2 hours though.. hehe. The lady said she had extended about 60 strands of lashes on each eye so a total of 120 lashes! I was like.. HUH? only?? before i went for the extension, i came across many advertisements and photos and i thought i will need about 100 extensions at least! But anyway i am very happy with the result! and of cos i will be returning! Im just not too sure if i wanna be a regular for eyelash extension or just do when i feel like it.. since.. im a SAHM and not meeting many people anyway??? but i love the way i look now! LOL

Should have take a before pic haha. shall update after the lashes dropped off or after i get them remove then... At the moment, no lashes has dropped yet. It does not feel uncomfortable at all. Most of the time i forgot i have them on until i see myself in the mirror! Im wearing contact lenses but have no problems putting them on nor removing them. Also, I have no habit of rubbing my eyes so no big problem with extensions!

A little about myself

Hi! Im Annie from Singapore. Turning 29 years old in a few days time~ I have a cute little 3.5 years old daughter who is a very good girl but still often drives me crazy! LOL. Presently, im living in Japan, Tokyo... As everyone knows, Tokyo is a paradise when it comes to fashion and beauty! In my opinion, its a paradise in pratically everything! LOL. Hubby is a Japanese...

I became very enthusiastic on skincare since the age of 22... prior to that, i was using only a cleanser (clarins gentle foaming cleanser) and totally no other skincare products and had great skin (as far as i remember). But once i started playing with skincare products, i started getting clog pores problems... but well i guess it takes trial and error to find a suitable skincare products/combination for me but i will continue to do so as i know skincare is essential!!

I stopped playing with skincare products when i got preggy as my skin condition became quite good during that period of time due to hormones...and i wanted to avoid as much chemicals as i can since i dont want to affect my baby...I was using organics products (I forgot the brand name! OMG age is catching up on me...) was using LRP before i got pregnant...(effclar k and efflar moisturiser which controls my sebum production very very well without drying it out! What i hate about it is the cucumber smell...hate cucumber..lol)

Anyway i resumed my hobby around 2 years after i gave birth (the first 2 years is a hell of time! taking care of a baby all alone in a foreign country with no help at all...) anyway, what prompted me to start a beauty blog is because... some friends suggested this! Since i have quite alot to share lol. eg reviews of my new beauty tools and products.. or some knowledge that i came across regarding beauty and skin care ingredients hehe. So here i am!

I do not have a lot of hobby but keeping myself pretty is one of them! of cos im not saying im pretty LOL. just that i have a thing for beauty tools and skincare products (not so much on makeup though as i feel its more important to have a good skin than to put on tones of makeup so im striving towards that goal!)

A bit on my skin type:

  • Acne prone (not those big red furious type but whiteheads n blackheads. eg bumps)
  • Combination (Oily on the t zone and a little dry on the cheecks)the strange thing is.. every skin check i went, says i have normal skin type! as my skin has a good balance of water and oil... but... i do get oily by mid day or by the evening and especially when i wake up in the morning when i can even get oily on my cheeks! are those skin checks accurate anyway??? LOL
  • Visible (not large) pores on my cheeks and nose but they can be covered nicely with simply mineral powder without any makeup base or whatsoever..
  • Presently on differin (adapalane) gel 0.1% for mild to moderate acne nightly which has made my skin very sensitive to friction eg cotton pads, scrubs, face brush or any skincare products which contains alcohol or any peeling ingredients like aha, bha and kinda dry.. it pratically flakes which makes my makeup goes on so super ugly! BUT i found my savior moisturising serum which i will talk about in the later part of my blog so tune in! hehe
Im very pratical on the things i use on my skin as im acne prone.. many products makes me breakout or bumpy (clog my pores..) after few uses. My skin is not exactly reactive immediately.. so i usually need at least 2-3 weeks to try a new product before i can say its ok for my skin! Sometimes, a product seems to work wonders on my skin for the first week or so but starting to break me out after 2 weeks or so... which is very very troublesome as usually we cant get so much samples to last 2-3 weeks?!?!??! So.. sometimes i realised the product is clogging me out only after i bought the full sizes! or... i will just need to go around counters collecting tones of samples so that they can last me for 2-3 weeks but i hate that feeling! it feels like im trying to get free lunch or something which im not!

For cosmetics, ive been using Lumiere Cosmetics Mineral makeup since i was 23 years old iirc... which is like... 5 years ago? Im still in love with it! Tried several brands of mineral makeup eg Everyday Minerals (im using their sunscreen powder and still loving it), alima (likes nothing from them..), meow cosmetics (didnt try long enough to know if it breaks me out but i liked the coverage. main reason why i didnt get from them is because of the slow shipping time and the HUGE variety of colors... i found my match in lumiere first so...LOL) and ended up with Lumiere...I just dont really feel safe putting any kind of cosmetic counters or drugstore cosmetics onto my skin... oh well~ looking at all the chemicals and pore clogging ingredients that comes with them...

Im rather stingy in many things except beauty LOL. i can spend tones of $ onto skin treatment, hair treatments, skin care products, skin care tools etc... my slogan... Beauty is never cheap! LOL.

Ok enough of me. Lets talk about beauty! Sorry if i bored you with my long long post about myself! LOL. Let us all achieve beauty!
